I have a Sharp Aquos LCD TV, Sony Bravia HTiB DAV-HDX285, Comcast digital cable and Xbox 360. I run HDMI from both my cable box and Xbox to the TV and then an optical cable from the TV (digital audio out) to the digital audio in on the Sony HTiB. The problem is that I don't get any audio through the surround sound when using HDMI.
